Buon Natale! Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays! It’s that time of year again!
Many of us bake or cook some of our favorite Italian Recipes for Christmas so I thought I would share my previous posts of Italian Recipes.
Even though the Italian Ricotta Cheese Cookies and the Amaretti Macaroons are not the most beautiful looking desserts, they are simple to make and delicious! Ricotta Cheese Italian Cookies and Italian Amaretti Macaroons

Another Italian Recipes for Christmas is a beautiful recipe called in dialect Pita Piata or Pit’impiglianta is more time consuming and complicated, but fun to make with some other family members or friends. Take a look at my post with a video of my aunts, my mom and I making this sweet dessert filled with raisins and nuts, that is a regional favorite from San Giovanni in Fiore, in Calabria, Italy.
Ravioli, of course, is not necessarily a Christmas dish, but again it’s festive and fun to make with the whole family involved. Or you could make them ahead of time and freeze. Freeze them in a single layer on a cookie sheet then bag them in zip-lock freezer bags. Enjoy the video and recipe. This particular recipe is ricotta and spinach filling, but you can fill them with butternut squash or meat.
May your holidays be filled with love, laughter, family and friends. Even if there is potential for stress and overload, take a deep breath, maybe even a break, and remember the purpose for this time of year. Festivals, whether they are religious or not, are meant to bring us together for the purpose of focusing on all that is good and right in the world.
Buon Natale, Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
