Via Dell’Amore Trail
I am so happy! I’ve been walking the Cinque Terre trails now for seven years, and it was a sad moment when the beautiful, ‘easy’ Via Dell’Amore Trail had to be closed at the end of September 2012, one week after my Italy Retreat Group had walked it. Now 30 months and 2.3 million Euros later, it is re-open according to Ansa en General News.
NOTE: September 2017: Only a small part was opened for a short while. As of my visit in September 2017, it is still closed!
The Via Dell’Amore Trail is easy, well paved and has strong guardrails, so even baby strollers can make it. This trail takes you from Riomaggiore to Manarola in 20 minutes, if you don’t stop along the way to take photos. Of course not taking photos of the incredible views of the mountains and Mediterranean Sea is impossible for me. Hopefully, they will re-open the wonderful snack bar that’s located halfway along the trail.
Visiting Riomaggiore and Manarola is delightful! Come join me on my Italy Retreat For Women September 7-17.

Wow! I hope this will be open for September 2016? So Beautiful!
Cathleen,
All the trails have beautiful panoramic views. It’s just that you have to work for it…lots of steps! It’s worth it. The Via Dell’Amore Trail is a smooth, flat surface that connects Riomaggiore with Manarola and takes 20 minutes to walk.
