A room with a view in Porto Cervo, Sardinia
Having arrived on the Italian island of Sardinia (Sardegna), my friend, Camille and I feel that we are in heaven.
We are driving to different parts of the island this week before the beginning of my Italy Retreat for Women. Our first stop is Porto Cervo in northeastern Sardegna, which is one town on the emerald coast, costa smeralda. Air as pure as I’ve ever breathed. Peaceful, no pollution, no industry to harm the natural atmosphere. Italian food, panoramic views of the Mediterranean/Tyrrhenian Sea, the color of Caribbean waters. In other words, aquamarine crystal blue paradise!
Having been upgraded to a room with a view of the bay, we are surprised and grateful. I am always grateful to be in Italy. Of course, a first stop at a roadside stand is always a delight for a picnic lunch.

The evening passiagiata (to walk but dressed in your finest) along the waterfront is lovely. Restaurants are on the more expensive side as this is part of the Emerald Coast.
The beaches we found in our one day stay on the Emerald Coast were not long stretches of white sand, but smaller coves.
Stay tuned and join me for a drive through Sardinia and then to the mainland of Italy where I will be leading my Italy Retreat for Women.
