We can change how we experience life by changing our beliefs, not just because we’re changing our thoughts, but because we are actually altering our brain chemistry, and using a different part of our brain. Even our spiritual lives can be enhanced when our brains function in a different manner.
For a phenomenal look at the power of our brains, I’d like to share a cosmic presentation by brain researcher, Jill Bolte Taylor, who documented her experiences when she was having a stroke. This beautiful presentation is entitled, “The Stroke of Insight.”

What seems to be most fascinating about the human brain is not only all that it can do but the simple fact that our brains have developed to the point that we can carry on cognitive activity in a way which facilitates an understanding of things like happiness; and then we can go blog about it. One can not help but think that maybe one day we will be even more evolved and discussing attributes of the brain that, to this day, we can’t comprehend.
p.s. Hi Grace’s Mom!
Adam,
Thanks for your insightful comment. The history of the brain shows so much evolution, and you’re right to think the evolution of the brain’s abilities is not frozen in time. Just look at the achievements throughout history in the area of language and science. The best is yet to come. The brain helps us to choose what we believe, which then affects our feelings of well-being.
